SCHOOLS SCHOOL 'SCHOOLS OF MAGIC'

SCHOOLS SCHOOL 'SCHOOLS OF MAGIC'

Schools of magic:

First of all all spells are split in to eight schools of magic, lets say
school of spell is defined by how does it affects things, when it will
occur and why it is cast.
 Those eight schools are:
Invocation, Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Illusion,
Necromancy and Alternation.

But as it is said that if you gain something you also loose something.
So if one wants to specialize in certain philosophy of school then he
also looses ability to understand the philosophy of opposite school.
Here is schools and opposite schools:

Abjurer - Transmuter
Conjurer - Diviner
Diviner - Conjurer
Enchanter - Invoker
Illusionist - Necromancer
Invoker - Enchanter, Conjurer
Necromancer - Illusionist, Transmuter
Transmuter - Abjurer, Necromancer

Example:
Invoker cannot learn spells from school of Enchantment or Conjuration.

Sometimes due to playability reasons it is allowed to learn one or two spells
from the opposite school, but it is rare.

And general philosophies of those schools are:

Invocation: If the will of a man can control energy then the energy
should serve the man without questions.

Abjuration: If spells have power to do then spells also have power to
undo.

Conjuration: All things may be loaned but they always need to be paid
back.

Divination: If the knowledge is power then the more you know the more
power you have.

Enchantment: All things may be done better.

Illusion: Nothing is Real.

Necromancy: After man dies he does not care about anything.

Alternation: If you see the things in different way they are not same
anymore to you.
